My Chef Prepared Picks ( & one of my own)
Summertime is in full swing and nothing satisfies me more than a fresh, tasty salad! Managing a cancer diagnosis can lead to challenging, taste friendly menu alternatives.
I've been fortunate to hang out with a few accomplished chefs, farmers and food enthusiasts in 2016, and I've tasted a few things. So here's my short list of my favorites so far. I'll post again in the fall, with some suggestions & salads after the main harvests. In addition I've added a link to Cook For Life's wonderful Healthy 4th of July Grilling Recipes for Cancer PatientsThe Sumner Salads:
First up: Chef Kellers Zucchini & Avocado Salad
*note - Chef Keller recommends if you want to switch out the protien, then cooked shrimp would be a good alternative

Next up: Chef Carly's interpretation of R. Katz's Cauliflower Tabbouleh Salad
Next: Edgemere Farms Summer Quinoa Salad
Well. What I do know about this salad is:
-Fresh lettuce was harvested from the farm
-Quionoa was the foundation
- Slices of Mandarin
- Olive oil dressing ( a little lemon, a flavored vinegar)
- Salt & ground pepper
This Salad was good!
Finally: Karen's Crunchy Sweet Summer Salad: The ingredients are listed below pictures 💞
